Jamaican Jerk Seasoning
Jerk seasoning or more precisely Jamaican jerk seasoning is something that is ordinarily found in the Supermarkets of Grand Cayman. One lazy weekend, I decided to buy everything that was available and was under CI$ 3.00 I ended up with 3 kinds: Tortuga’s Jamaican Jerk Spice, Eaton’s Jamaican Jerk Spice and Grace Dry Jerk Spice. I have tried all three on three batches of raw chicken. All were marinated for over 12 hours so there was no undue advantage.

Which one is the best?
Tortuga, Grace, Eaton – All Jerk Seasoning under CI$ 3.00
I should probably also say that I am not being paid to blog about jamaican jerk seasoning. I just enjoy writing about things-that-make-me-go-yum and giving me value for my money. I love it when I am surprised at the value that is being offered to me, the consummate consumer.
I should also probably say that my taste buds are subjective to my tastes. The winner of the Supermarket bought Jerk Seasoning is TORTUGA’s Jamaican Jerk Seasoning. It didnt have an unpleasant after-taste like Eatons did and it wasn’t too spicy for me.
Second came Eatons and last place (meaning do not waste your money on this) is the Grace Dry Jerk Seasoning. But, again it ultimately depends on taste.
