Snorkeling in Smith Cove, Grand Cayman
Smith Cove is located on South Sound on Grand Cayman. It is an intimate beach destination for locals and tourists alike. Its a small place with benches available on one side and a sandy cove on the other. When you walk straight through the back, there is a bluff that is a great place to take photos of the sunset.
The snorkeling in Smith cove is very much like its land counter part – small and intimate. There are small reefs that cover both sides of the cove that are steaming with fish life… its just that after seeing all the other snorkeling sites, this is not as impressive. Also be careful of strong waves late in the afternoon as some of them are strong enough to knock you on to a shallow reef.

Smith Cove, Grand Cayman nearly sunset time
So there are fishes to see for snorkelers, even tarpons that are huge and kinda scary looking but all and all Smith Cove is not one of the impressive snorkeling sites. But its a great place to go on a date and watch the sunset.

Underwater life in Smith Cove, Grand Cayman
Because Smith cove is small… when there are alot of people, it becomes too crowded – even underwater. Here is a photo of a guy meditating underwater in Smith Cove.
