Sunset House is where I first saw my first wild turtle and first wild stingray (outside of stingray city) and thats why I am quite fond of the place. The snorkeling spot is located right behind Sunset House Resort and restaurant on South Sound. Once you walk to the back you will see a large sea pool which is very attractive to first timers on the island. The sea pool is where most divers and snorkelers start off their water adventure.

Sea Pool at Sunset House
From the sea pool there is a open channel to the rest of the Sea and is starts at around 15 ft deep. As soon as you start making your way out of the pool you will see alot of fishes, big and small. They aren’t very friendly in this part of the island, which is strange in Grand Cayman. The fish are much friendlier in Cemetery Beach, Governor’s and Eden Rock.
Below are two photos of the water below the surface.

Sunset House snorkeling site - this section is around 15 ft deep and has lots crevices.

Two huge parot-looking fishes around 30 ft down - 100 yards from the shore
